Rehearsal at the New School, Wednesday.
April 30th is International Jazz Day, and as promised all bands are invited to attend a jam session to celebrate!
Details: 5 to 7 PM at the Maple Leaf Music Space: 1060 NE 100th St. with host Ev Stern, local bassist and educator.
Please don’t just say ‘So What?’ but instead bring yourself and instrument at 5 PM or whenever you can make it. Come for the music, stay for Ev’s corny jokes and tips on ensemble playing and improvisation. Parents welcome.
Please RSVP at the link sent via the RJB Boosters.
Way to go, Roosevelt! Director Scott Brown said it best: “Congrats to our Roosevelt Jazz Band students for being accepted by blind audition as Essentially Ellington Finalists for 2022! Congrats also to Bothell and Mt. Si, whose jazz bands were the other two chosen from our region.” A total of 15 bands have been invited to participate in the 27th annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival to be held May 5-7 at Lincoln Center in NYC. See the full list of finalists here: https://academy.jazz.org/ee/ Congratulations to all involved!
